Really?!?!?!?

All is going well. Download was seamless. Opened no problem. Made sure it would allow me to print, looked good. Spend 2+ hours typing a list with a lot of words, numbers and ‘tabs’ and I go to print, look at the print preview and I have a long narrow page. OK, I adjust page to US Letter format. Seems simple enough. Look at print preview and all looks good BUT, there is only one page when there should be 8-10 pages. The character count and word count at the bottom of the screen look accurate (1203 words and 9339 characters) but they are somewhere. I did press print hoping the whole document would print but as expected and suspected, only one page printed. Am I messing up somewhere?? I don’t use my Mac for typing lengthy documents, this is really the 1st time, and I wanted something simple that I could print to hard copy. Far from impressed right now.
If anyone can help, please. Document is saved and it’s stlll one page but showing word and character count to be a lot more than a page
